Harnessing immersive media to empower youth for a safe, sustainable, future.

ABOUT

Hi I'm Kay, a digital futurist on a mission to help young people thrive in a fast-changing online world.

With a background in technology law, immersive media, and education, I have led the development of award-winning AR/VR experiences and mobile games in collaboration with Apple, Meta, and the UN Environment Programme.

I believe that to inspire the next generation to care about people and our planet, we must meet young people where they already are: inside games and digital spaces, using immersive worlds to spark curiosity, planetary protection, action, and behaviour change through learning and play.

OCEANX

You can't make someone care about the ocean by telling them to.

As Director of Immersive & Digital Experiences at OceanX Education, I build entry points that don't just teach people about the ocean — they make people feel like they've been there.

My kids run in the opposite direction if I ask them to watch a nature documentary. But when I invite them to play Hungry Shark by Ubisoft, or step inside an immersive room by teamLAB, they are glued to my side. They light up. They ask questions.

Role-playing, gesture-based interactions, stunning digital visuals and being inside the experience not feeling distant from it. That's the difference.

Examples of the work I have done at OceanX

The OceanX Education Hackathons

To crack the code on ocean education, you first need to understand the problem. That's what the OceanX Education Hackathons are about - bringing together digital artists, creative technologists, scientists, educators and storytellers to ask one question: how do we make people genuinely care about the ocean?

Previous work

  • k-ID

Previously, as Head of Youth and Family at k-ID, I lead the development of privacy-first tools that help young people navigate digital spaces safely. Through co-design with youth and partnerships with leading child safety organisations, we shaped the future of the internet for kids and teens globally.

  • Sky Farm Island

My passion for engaging youth led me to create Sky Farm Island, the world's first urban farming game on Roblox that aims to inspire kids to grow and eat their greens. This game showcases Singapore's innovative food production systems while inspiring real-world action, earning recognition as a two-time finalist in the UN's Playing for the Planet Green Game Jam 2024.

  • MeshMinds

As the founder of MeshMinds, I built an award-winning creative technology studio and foundation that invests in games for good. By connecting impact artists, tech-for-good developers, and sustainability advocates, we create immersive experiences that inspire real-world action for people and the planet. In collaboration with the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), we launched initiatives like 100 Days to #BeatPlasticPollution, using augmented reality (AR) games to engage and educate digital youth on sustainability.
