Redefining Online Safety for Young People

k-ID is a privacy-first, safety-focused initiative helping kids navigate the digital world with confidence. The internet wasn't built with young people in mind, but it's time for change.

As Head of Youth and Family at k-ID, my role focuses on these three key areas:

  • Co-designing digital tools with young people for safer online experiences

  • Organising accessible safety information for kids, parents, and educators

  • Creating campaigns that use storytelling to inspire responsible digital citizenship

Speaking at the United Nations: Games and SDG Summit 2024

In October 2024, I had the honour of speaking on the “Child Rights and Protection in the Digital Age” panel at the Games and SDG Summit hosted by Games for Change at the United Nations in New York. Joined by experts from UNICEF and moderated by Bloomberg News, we explored how to protect children while nurturing their creativity and growth in digital spaces.

Representing k-ID, I shared our approach to building a safer, more empowering internet for young people—an essential part of ensuring children's rights are respected in an increasingly connected world.

K-ID Talks: Coaching, Not Controlling

Parenting in the digital age isn't easy. Through the k-ID Talks podcast, I interview global experts to share practical strategies and tackle real challenges:

1- Engaging with your child's online world
2- including kids' voices in online safety
3- Explaining the "why" behind rules

Instead of fear, we focus on connection and confidence to prepare young people to thrive in tomorrow’s world.

Every decision I make comes back to one question: “Will this help young people thrive in the digital world?” That clarity of purpose keeps me focused on what truly matters.
